Sainik School Entrance Exam 2023: Result Released Now

AISSEE 2023 exam is now over and the National Testing Agency has released its result now. Sainik School entrance exam is conducted for admission to class VI and class IX in 33 sainik schools in India.

The National Testing Agency had released Sainik school application form in online mode. Students will be selected based on an admission test followed by a medical exam.

AISSEE 2023 Eligibility Criteria

For admission to Sainik School, the candidates must meet the eligibility criteria prescribed below:

Class VI:

  • Gender: Only boy applicants are eligible for Sainik School admissions.
  • Age limit: As on 31st March 2023, the age of the candidates should not be less than 10 years or greater than 12 years.

Class IX:

  • Gender: Boy candidates can only apply for the admissions.
  • Age limit: As on 31st March 2023, the age of the candidates should not be less than 13 years or greater than 15 years.
  • Qualification: Candidate should be studying in class 8 in any recognized school.

Sainik School 2023 Application Process

The application form for Sainik School 2023 admission has been released online. Candidates can obtain the form by visiting the official website of NTA https://aissee.nta.nic.in/.

AISSEE 2023 Application Process
  • Candidates should provide their personal and academic details into the application and upload their photograph and signature in scanned format.
  • Choice for exam city and for school should also be provided into the application form.
  • After providing these details, candidates can proceed with the payment of the application fee.
  • The applicants then need to upload scanned copies of their birth certificate, domicile certificate and caste certificate into the form.
  • After uploading these documents, the candidates should submit the application form and take its printout.

Important Documents to Upload

  • Scanned copy of candidate’s photograph in jpg/jpeg format (size: 10 kb – 200 kb)
  • Scanned copy of candidate’s photograph in jpg/jpeg format (size: 10 kb – 200 kb)
  • Candidate’s left-hand thumb impression in JPG/JPEG format (file size 10 kb -50 kb)
  • Birth certificate
  • Caste/ Community/ Category Certificate
  • Domicile certificate
  • Certificate of service (for Defence category-serving) and PPO for Ex-
    servicemen, as applicable in JPG/JPEG format (size: 100KB to 400KB)

Application fee:

  • Candidates need to pay an amount of Rs. Rs.550/- for General/Wards of Defence personnel and ex-servicemen/OBC(NCL) as per central list and  Rs.400/- for SC/ST as Sainik school application fee.
  • Payment of application form can be done online using debit card/ credit card or net banking.

The syllabus for both class 6 and class 9 entrance exam is provided below:

For class VI:

  • Language: Tenses, Sentence Formation, Rearranging Jumbled Words, Grammar, Prepositions, Verb & Adjective, Vocabulary, One Word Substitution, etc
  • Intelligence: Analogy Test, Letter Series, Alphabet Series, Basic Reasoning, etc
  • Mathematics: Number System, Mathematical Functions, BODMAS Rule, Average, Geometry, Mensuration, Profit & Loss, Simple Interest, etc
  • General Knowledge: Food & Nutrition, Solar System, Human Body, Freedom Struggle, Climate & Weather, Indian Constitution, Environment Pollution, etc

For class IX:

  • Mathematics: Cubes & Squares, Algebra, Polynomials, Mensuration, Factorization Simple & Compound Interest, Area & Perimeter, Solid Figures, Geometry, etc

AISSEE 2023 Admit Card

  • Admit card to appear in the Sainik school entrance test 2023 has been uploaded on the official website of NTA.
  • A printout of the admit card should be taken and carried by the candidates while reporting to the exam center.
  • No candidates will be allowed to enter the examination hall without a valid admit card.
  • Details of the exam like schedule and venue will be communicated to the candidates via the admit card.
  • The admit card will also be required at the time of the admission and therefore should be preserved by the candidates.

AISSEE 2023 Result & Selection

  • NTA has declared the result of the entrance exam and upload a list of the qualified candidates on the NTA official website.
  • Call letter to appear in the medical exam will also be released along with the merit list.
  • Candidates will be able to check their OMR sheet by logging to their account and making payment of a prescribed amount of fee.
  • Those shortlisted for medical exam need to report for the same as per the details mentioned in their call letter.
  • After the conduct of the medical exam, the candidates need to get their documents verified.
  • A final merit list will be prepared for the candidates who clear the medical exam and document verification round.
  • Admissions will be granted to the candidates as per the final merit list.
  • All successful candidates are required to attend e-counselling.

  • Date of birth certificate
  • Copy of entrance exam result
  • Permanent resident certificate
  • Certificate of income from Tahsildar
  • Certificate of domicile from Tahsildar

Reservation Policy

  • 67% of the seats in each Sainik School will be reserved for boys from the state in which the Sainik School is located.
  • Rest 33% seats will be open to boys from other States and Union Territories as per the ratio of their male population.
  • 15% of the total seats are reserved for the candidates of SC category and 7.5% seats for ST category.
  • 25% of seats are reserved for the Children of Service Personnel including Ex-Servicemen.

Sainik School Admission 2023 FAQs

Question 1: Is it possible for me to submit my application offline?

Answer: The application form can be filled and submitted only through online mode. No other way is provided by the authorities for the same.

Question 2: What is the minimum qualifying mark in the entrance exam?

Answer: Unless changed, the minimum qualifying marks for general category candidates, children of Defence Service personnel and ex-servicemen will be 25% in each subject with 40% in aggregate. For SC/ST candidates, the minimum qualifying standards are not required and they will be admitted on the basis of inter-se-merit at the entrance exam/ interview.

Question 3: Sainik schools are affiliated to which board?

Answer: All Sainik schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with medium of instruction as English in all these schools.
