The championship game of the National Football League (NFL) season 2024, also known as Super Bowl LVIII, is all set to be organized. However, it is the first time in NFL history that a Superbowl is being held in the Las Vegas Valley area. Earlier, New Orleans was selected as the 2024 Super Bowl host but due to other celebrations being held there, Nevada was decided as the final location. Selection of Super Bowl LVIII Location
In 2018, New Orleans was selected by the league as the host for Super Bowl LVIII at the Caesars Superdome. In 2020, a decision was made by the National Football League Players Association and the National Football League to extend the regular season from 16 to 17 games, starting in 2021. As this decision was finalized, a conflict was caused with New Orleans’ Mardi Gras celebrations.
As a result of this collision, the league changed the venue for the 2024 Super Bowl from New Orleans to Las Vegas, thus making Nevada the first-time host of Super Bowl. It was formally announced on October 14, 2020, that New Orleans would host Super Bowl LIX instead of Super Bowl LVIII and Las Vegas was finalized to host the game on December 15, 2021.

In the previous process, cities that wished to host a Super Bowl submitted their bids, which were then voted upon at the league owners’ meetings. However, in the new process cities are no longer allowed to bid for the game and rather the league chooses the potential candidates.
