Domestic Career
Shreyas Iyer made his List A debut in November 2014 in a Vijay Hazare Trophy game representing Mumbai.
He impressed everyone in the tournament scoring 273 runs at an average of 54.60. Iyer continued his good form and smashed 809 runs with two centuries and six fifties in the following Ranji Trophy season.
Shreyas had another great Ranji season in 2015-16 when he scored 1,321 with an amazing average of 73.39.
He scored his highest first-class score of 202 runs not out against Australia in a 3-Day practice game. Iyer also holds the record for the highest score by an Indian batsman in a T20 match. He scored 147 runs in a 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) match.
International Career
After a series of good performances in domestic cricket, Shreyas Iyer made his T20I debut on 1st November 2017 against New Zealand. However, he didn’t get a chance to bat.
After one month, he was named in India’s One Day International (ODI) squad for a series against Sri Lanka. He played an excellent innings of 88 runs from 70 balls at Mohali. He has been a permanent member of the Indian team in limited-over cricket since then.
Due to injuries, Iyer has to wait for his test debut till November 2021. He got his test cap from great Sunil Gavaskar and played his first test against New Zealand. After scoring a century, he became the 16th Indian player to score a century in the debut test match.
