The distance between Mathura and Vrindavan is around 15 km. Alternatively, you can book a private auto rickshaw from Mathura Railway Station or the bus stand.

Biography of Premanand Ji Maharaj
Pujya Maharaj Ji was born into a Brahmin family in Akhri Village of Sarsol Block in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His parents named him Aniruddh Kumar Pandey. The whole family was extremely pious. His grandfather was a Sanyaasi, and his father, Shri Shambu Pandey, accepted Sanyaas in later years.
The name of Maharaj Ji’s mother was Shrimati Rama Devi. Given his devotional background, she started reading Srimad Bhagavatam along with his brother at a young age. When he was in 5th grade, he began to read Shri SukhSagar by Gita Press Publication.
By the time he reached class 9th, he decided to lead a spiritual life, exploring the path towards God. One morning at 3 AM, he left his home to unveil the truth behind human life.
He accepted Sanyaas and renamed Anand Swaroop Brahmchari. He was then named Swami Anandashram upon accepting MahaVakya. As a spiritual seeker, he spent many years on the banks of the Ganges. He roamed on the Assi-Ghat in Varanasi.
One day, he attended a Raas Lila, which was being organised by Swami Shri SriRam Sharma. He then went on to attend Raas Lila for one month. This one month proved to be the turning point of his life.
Later, on the advice of Swami Shri Sriram Sharma and his disciple Shri Narayan Das Bhakt Mali, Maharaji boarded a train to Mathura and settled in Vrindavan forever.
Kidney Failure
Premanand ji Maharaj had autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease. According to experts, this disease is genetic. It passes from parent to child. Due to this disease, Maharaj Ji’s kidney was damaged in his youth. He is living his life with kidney failure. He lives a very virtuous life and sleeps only for four hours.
