INSPIRE KVPY 2024: Exam Date, Application Form, Age Limit, Qualification, Selection Process

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is conducted to select candidates for fellowship program to pursue their research career. Earlier, the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India conducted the selection test to shortlist the candidate for the fellowship.

However, from 2022 onward, the KVPY is merged with INSPIRE scholarship and will be distributed as per its rule. No KVPY selection test will be organized anymore and selection will be based on merit. INSPIRE KVPY 2024 Overview

• DST has decided to subsume KVPY with INSPIRE. Ongoing KVPY fellows will continue to receive fellowship as per norms from DST.
• Availing multiple (more than one) fellowships concurrently from different sources shall not be allowed.
• Clearing the KVPY makes candidate eligible for enrolment in IISc and IISER institutes all across the country.
• Students intending to pursue/ pursing undergraduate program under Distance Education scheme/ correspondence course of any university are not eligible to apply.
• The fellowship will get active only after the enrolment of the candidates in the undergraduate course.
• The selection process will be expected to complete within 6 months from the last date of submission of application/requisite documents.

INSPIRE KVPY 2024 Application Process

Candidates can submit their KVPY application form and appear for the INSPIRE KVPY 2024 selection process. The application form will released in online modeon the official website of Inspire www.onlineinspire.gov.in.

• Candidates need to submit a registration form first providing details like name, father’s name, date of birth, gender, contact info, password, etc.
• After submission of registration form, they can obtain the application form using registration number and password.
• Personal and education details like domicile, category, qualifying exam passing year, passing status, marks, etc. are required in the application form.
• Photograph and signature of the candidates should be uploaded into the application form in scanned format.
• Duly filled application form can be submitted online along with the prescribed application fee.
• Before submitting the form, the candidates should check all the details carefully as any incorrect information can lead to its rejection.
• A printout of application form should be taken by the candidates and kept safe for reference in future.

KVPY 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for appearing in the INSPIRE KVPY 2024 exam are provided below:

Age limit:

• The minimum and maximum age of the candidate age should be 17 and 22 years respectively.

Educational qualification:

• Candidates who are first rank holders in any recognized Indian University/ Institution in postgraduate level exam in Basic Sciences/ Applied Sciences including Engineering, Pharmacy, Agricultural sciences and Veterinary Sciences are eligible.
• Those who hold first ranking in any recognized Indian University/ Institution in graduate/ postgraduate level exam in medicine are eligible to apply too.
• First rank holders should obtain minimum aggregate of 70% marks (or equivalent CGPA) in basic science/applied science subject course/program.
• The university in which they are enrolled in should have batch size of minimum 07 students for the entire course/ program.
• INSPIRE scholar having secured minimum 70% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA at M.Sc or Integrated MS/ M.Sc course can apply too.

KVPY 2024 Selection Process

• The two-tier selection process comprise of screening of eligible applications by an Internal Committee, followed by final selection through an Expert Committee.
• The internal committee will shortlist the candidates on the basis of their merit in qualifying exam.
• Only the shortlisted candidates’ profile will be sent to the expert committee for final selection.
• The result of the selection process will be communicated to individual selected candidate through online web portal only.
• The result shall be uploaded on the respective applicant’s INSPIRE web portal account only.
• Non-acceptance of final offer within 30 days from the date of issue of final offer will lead to cancellation of candidature.
