Al Roker Biography
Al Roker was born on 20 August 1954 in the borough of Queens, New York City to Isabel and Albert Lincoln Roker Sr. His father was a bus driver and his family that comprised of the parents and three children had very little money growing up. However, in the words of Roker, the family was very satisfied and content and lived very happily together. Roker initially wanted to be a cartoonist but later attended the State University of New York to receive a BA in communications.
Roker got married at an early age but later got divorced and in 1984 again got married to WNBC producer Alice Bell. The couple adopted an infant daughter together. Roker and Bell also got divorced and Roker then married TV journalist Deborah Roberts in 1995. They are the parents of daughter Leila and son Nicholas.

Brief Career History
Roker started working as a weather anchor for WHEN-TV in Syracuse (an affiliate of CBS network) while still attending his college. In addition to this, he also DJ’d at the campus radio station. After completing his graduation, Roker moved to Washington, D.C. and took a position of weather caster at independent station WTTG. His career with NBC began in 1978 when he was hired at WKYC in Cleveland.
Roker received wider exposure after appearing on an episode of the talk show Late Night with David Letterman which ultimately led him to become the forecaster for Weekend Today.
