Klein started his career at SAP when he was only a student. He held many roles in the company in their Services Operations, Active Global Support Operations, Global Controlling and others.
From 2011 to 2012, he served as Chief Financial Officer of SAP SuccessFactors and became Chief Controlling Officer (COO) in 2014.
