Sonny John Moore was born on January 15, 1988, in Los Angeles, California. His parents Francis and Scott Moore were the family friends of Moore’s biological parents, a fact that he didn’t know until he was 15. Both of his parents were Scientologists. His mother died in June 2015.

Skrillex Career Highlights
In 2004, Moore auditioned to be a guitar player for the band From First to Last on their debut album. After he performed in front of the studio producers, he got selected as the band’s lead singer. The band’s first full-length record was released in 2004 which became a major hit. The band performed on several successful tours after which they went on to record their second album. With high record sales once again, the band found themselves part of many successful tours. However, Moore started suffering vocal problems and the band had to resign from several tours. Moore went through a successful vocal surgery and after his recovery, he informed the band he would resign permanently and work on a solo career.
Moore began producing and performing under the alias Skrillex in Los Angeles in 2008. He released his official debut, My Name Is Skrillex in 2010. In 2011 Skrillex stated that he will release an album but for unknown reasons, the album was never released. Moore released his first solo album in 2014 named Recess. His second album, Quest For Fire came out on February 17, 2023, and one day later, Skrillex released his third album, Don’t Get Too Close while performing at a Madison Square Garden venue.
