History of World Voice Day
The history of World Voice Day dates back to 1999 when a group of Brazilian doctors and speech-language pathologists came together to create the Brazilian Society of Laryngology and Voice.
This initiative attracted professionals from all over the world to share their knowledge and expertise about voice health. As the years went by, the event grew in popularity. In 2002, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery joined in to celebrate World Voice Day.
In 2012, three voice analysts, Prof. Johan Sundberg (Sweden), Prof. Tecumseh Fitch (Austria), and Dr Filipa La (Portugal) welcomed voice specialists from various nations to create a global website group for the celebration of World Voice Day.
