His mother was an early childhood education professor while his father was a stockbroker. Damon’s parents got divorced when he was two years old. Damon made his film debut at the age of 18, with a single line of dialogue in the romantic comedy “Mystic Pizza”. While still at Harvard, he landed a role in the movie “Geronimo: An American Legend” and left the university without completing his degree. He next appeared in the 1996 film Courage Under Fire for which he received critical acclaim. Along with his friend and actor Ben Affleck, Damon completed the screenplay for Good Will Hunting that he started writing in college.
