Chandigarh NMMS 2023: Application Form, Exam Date, Eligibility

State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), UT Chandigarh will conduct the state level test in order to select the candidates for National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme NMMS Chandigarh 2023. Interested candidates who want to apply need to fill the application form in offline mode. Please note that the facility of online application will not be available. Under Chandigarh NMMS 2023 scheme, students will get Rs. 12000/- per annum up to a maximum of 4 years. Students studying in class 8^th can apply for this scheme. NMMS Chandigarh 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Those who are looking to apply must make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria listed below.

Candidates must be studying in 8^th class of a government, local body, and Government Aided school.
Aspirants need to have at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in class 7^th A relaxation of 5% marks will be given to the candidates of SC/ ST categories.
The annual income of the parents from all sources should not exceed 1.5 lakh per annum.

After downloading the form, applicants must take a printout and fill the form in neat and clean handwriting.
All the details in the application form should be filled in block letters using a blue/ black ballpoint pen only.
It is the responsibility of the candidates to check the details entered in the application form. Please note that the incorrect or fabricated details can result in the rejection of an application form.
While filling the form, the candidates also need to get some of the details filled by the head of the institute.
The duly filled application form should be sent to the SCERT office before the last date.
Keep a copy of the application form submitted for future requirements.

The application fee for the candidates of different categories is as follows.

General Category Candidates: Rs. 170/-
SC/ ST Category Candidates: Rs. 120/-

Admit Card

The admit card must be collected from the State Council of Educational Research and Training, Sector 32 C, UT Chandigarh by a representative of the Head of the concerned School.
Information about the examination date, timings and venue will present on the admit card.
It is important for every candidate to carry a valid admit card at the examination center.
No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination center without an admit card.
Students must reach the Examination Centre at least half an hour before the commencement of the examination.

NMMS Chandigarh 2023 Syllabus

The important topics from each subject (for each paper) are given below.

Mental Aptitude Test: Analogy, Classification, Numerical Series, Pattern Perception, Hidden Figure, Verbal & Non-Verbal Meta-Cognitive Abilities like Reasoning & Critical Thinking, etc.

Scholastic Aptitude Test

Mathematics: Number System, Algebra, Ratio and Proportion, Lines and Angles, Triangles, Quadrilaterals, Circles, Visualizing 2D and 3D Shapes, Mensuration and Statistics, etc.
Science: Physics – Motion & Time, Weather & Climate, Electricity, Air, Winds & Cyclones, Reflection of Light, Force, Sound, Some Natural Phenomena, Friction and Temperature & Its Measurement, Chemistry – Acids – Bases, Combustion, Fuels & Flame, Metals & Non Metals, Coal & Petroleum, Synthetic Fibers & Plastics, Electric Conductivity of Liquids and Changes Around Us.
Social Science: Geography, History, Civics, and Economics taught in class 7th and class 8th.

Reservation Policy

As per State norms, 4% of the total seats are reserved for Physically Challenged group of students.
85 scholarships will be awarded to the students of UT Chandigarh who are appearing in Class VIII examination.

Answer Key and Result

Soon after the exam, candidates will be able to check the Chandigarh NMMS 2023 answer keys from the official website.
Students will also get the chance to submit an objection against the answer keys of both MAT and SAT.
After that, the authorities will release the final result through the official website.

Qualifying marks Merit List

Along with the result, a merit list of the candidates selected for a scholarship will also be released.
To get selected, a candidate must pass both the papers i.e. MAT and SAT with at least 40% marks in aggregate taken together for these two papers.
Those candidates who belong to SC/ ST category should have at least 32% marks in aggregate taken together for both MAT and SAT.
