Delhi School of Excellence Eligibility Criteria 2023

Those students who want to take admission should meet the following eligibility criteria in order to apply.

Residence

• The students of both Government and Recognised Private Schools of Delhi are eligible to apply. However, all students must produce valid residence proof at the time of admission.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification requirements depend upon the Skill that a candidate will choose.

Stem (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)

• A minimum of 50% of students will be from the government schools of Delhi.
• For admission to class 11^th – Candidates must have passed 10^th class with a minimum 75% aggregate marks (Best of 5 including Mathematics and Science).
• For admission to class 9^th – Aspirants must have passed 8^th class with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks
• Students from SC/ ST/ OBC (non creamy layer)/ CWSN will get a relaxation of 5% marks.

Humanities/ High-end 21^st Century Skills

• The admission will be provided in class 9^th
• A minimum of 50% of students admitted to Schools of Specialized Excellence will be from Government Schools
• Students must have passed class 8^th with a minimum of 60% marks.
• Candidates from SC/ ST/ OBC (non creamy layer)/ CWSN will get a relaxation of 5% marks.

Performing and Visual Arts

• The admission will be provided in class 9^th
• A minimum of 50% of students admitted to Schools of Specialized Excellence will be from Government Schools
• Students must have passed class 8^th with a minimum of 60% marks. Please note that there are no criteria for minimum marks in case a student has received an award in any Art form in competition at a zonal or upward level.
• Candidates from SC/ ST/ OBC (non creamy layer)/ CWSN will get a relaxation of 5% marks.

Age limit

• Class 6^th – must have completed the age of 10 years but less than 12 years.
• Class 7^th – must have completed the age of 11 years but less than 13 years.
• Class 8^th – must have completed the age of 12 years but less than 14 years.
• Class 9^th – must have completed the age of 13 years but less than 15 years.

Note: The age relaxation of six months is possible. However, parents have to apply for age relaxation to the concerned HoS.

Delhi School of Excellence Application Form 2023

The application process for Delhi School of Excellence Admission 2023 will take place online. Parents can enroll their wards through the official website before the last date. Given below is the step by step process to apply.

• First of all, you will have to visit the official website of School of Specialized Excellence, Government of NCT Delhi.
• On the official website, you will have to click on the “Admissions” tab appearing at the top of the screen.
• Then, click on the apply button to open the main application form.
• In the main application form, parents will have to enter all the required details related to their child.
• A few of the details that parents need to enter are name, date of birth, school last attended, marks scored in the previous class, etc.
• Candidates should enter accurate details in the application form. Otherwise, the application form can get rejected.
• It is necessary for all candidates to pay the application fee along with the application form.
• Finally, take a printout of the application form submitted for future references.

• The selection of candidates will take place on the basis of an entrance test.
• The entrance test will be conducted to determine the overall intelligence of a candidate.
• Apart from this, the test may also be conducted to judge other skills of candidates.
• The shortlisted candidates may be asked to appear for an interview/ interaction.

Admit Card

• Once the application form submission process gets over, authorities will publish admit cards for the entrance test.
