Directed by Anil Sharma and set during the Partition of India this broke many box office records when it was released in the year 2001. Now, the sequel of this movie with the title “Gadar 2: The Katha Continues” is already announced.

Gadar 2 Release Date: Gadar 2 has been released on 11th August 2023. The film was released in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil in Imax, 3D, and 2D Versions respectively.

There is no confirmed date announced by official regarding Gadar 2 OTT release date. However, it is being expected that it will release on OTT in October 2023.

Sharing a teaser video of the film Sunny Deol Tweeted “ After two decades the wait is finally over! On the auspicious day of Dusshera, Presenting to you the motion poster of #Gadar2. The Katha Continues…”

Ameesha Patel also tweeted about the film “ GADAR 2 Muhurat shot, the General was kind enough to grace the occasion @surrender.singh1974@rohit_jaykay”

The director of the film Anil Sharma tweeted on 15th October “ After two decades the wait is finally over! Announcing the biggest ever sequel in Indian cinema. Presenting to you the motion poster of #Gadar2”

Actor Utkarsh Sharma also informed his fans about the film via Twitter “ Lo ek aur safar shuru ho gaya, filled with excitement at the muhurat of #Gadar2. • Gadar 2 is a highly anticipated project of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel. The shooting of the film already started on 1st December 2021.

A Plot of Gadar 2

The plot of the first part of “Gadar” was amazing, It was set in the era of partition of India. The film revolves around the story of a truck driver called “Tara Singh”. Tara Singh a Sikh falls in love with a Muslim girl that he saved during the partition of India. The original movie received an amazing response from the country when it was released on 15th June 2001.

Not much information about the plot of Gadar 2 is available in the public domain. However, Sunny Deol recently shared a teaser poster which had written “The Katha Continues…” on the same. This indicates that the movie is going to be a follow up to “Gadar”.

Utkarsh Sharma (son of Director Anil Sharma) who played the son of Tara Singh (Sunny Doel) is also going to feature in Gadar 2. So, we can expect that “Gadar 2” will revolve around the son of Tara Singh.

The major cast of Gadar 2 is expected to be the same. However, there are some subtle changes possible. The expected cast of Gadar 2 is given below.

• Sunny Deol – Sunny Deol who is away from the silver screen for a few days is now all set to return the role of Tara Singh in Gadar 2. Sunny is the one who shared the first look of the film on Twitter.
• Ameesha Patel – Just like Sunny, Ameesha is also away from the big screen for a long time. Ameesha has already informed her follower on Twitter that she is already shooting for the film. Ameesha Patel was last seen in the film “Bhaiyaji Superstar” released in the year 2018. She will play the role of Sakina in the film.
• Utkarsh Sharma – Utkarsh Sharma who is the son of director Anil Sharma played the role of Jeet in the first part of the movie brilliantly. This time it is expected that Utkarsh is going to play one of the central characters in the storyline. We can say that the movie will revolve a lot around him.

Special Mention – For those who watched Gadar – Ek Prem Katha (part 1 of Gadar), the role of Amrish was top-notch in the movie. The actor played the negative role of Ashraf Ali amazingly. Amrish Ji died in the year 2005. The fans are surely going to miss him a lot.
