  3. Akshata – (Made by combining wet turmeric with rice, saffron, and pulp)
  4. Red flowers

  8. Mango leaves/beetle leaves
  9. Modaks
  10. Some fruits (preferably bananas)
  11. A Chaurang or elevated table to place the idol.
  12. Durva grass
  13. Red cloth
  14. Camphor
  15. Diya and oil or ghee to light in front of the idol for Aarti.

Steps to perform before Ganesh Puja

Cleanliness and devotion are the main things for any puja or vrat. So, clean your house and take a bath before performing pooja vidhi.

Prepare and decorate the Ganesh mandap with flowers, coconut, banana leaves, or mango leaves.

Take a pot filled with water and rice and put it near Lord Ganesh’s idol.

Place the idol saying ‘Om Ganeshy Namah’.

Start the Ganesh Puja by chanting 108 names of Lord Ganesh or you can chant simple Ganesh shlok/mantras.

Light the lamp with ghee or oil and offer Aarti to the Ganesh ji by singing chants especially devoted to Lord Ganesh or Ganesh Aarti.
