Inspire Scholarship 2024: Department of Science and Technology (DST) is the authority that manages the Inspire Scholarship program. Under this program, financial assistance is provided to students to pursue higher education courses based on their academic performance. Please note that there will not be any selection test, aspirants will be selected based on their previous academic performances. Those who want to apply need to fill and submit the application form in online mode.

Inspire Scholarship 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Those who want to be get benefited from Inspire Scholarship must make sure that they meet the following eligibility criteria.

  • All those meritorious Students with aggregate marks within the top 1% of their Class XII examination of any State/ Central Board in India are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
    • Such students must be pursuing courses in Natural and Basic Sciences at the BSc, BS, and Int. M.Sc./ MS level.
  • The students who have secured ranks in the JEE of IIT, AIPMT (within top 10000 ranks), and are presently pursuing Natural and Basic Science courses in India at the BSc, BS, Int. M.Sc./MS level are also eligible.
  • Apart from this the students who are currently pursuing Integrated M.S. courses at IISERs, NISER and Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Basic Sciences, Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) scholars and International Olympiad medallists pursuing Bachelor/ Master level courses in Natural Sciences.
  • The age of a candidate should be between 17 to 22 years in order to apply.

Inspire Scholarship 2024 Application Form

The application process of Inspire Scholarship 2024 will take place in online mode only. Those who want to apply need to visit the official website in order to submit the application form. The complete application process is explained.

  • The first step of the application process is registration on the official website.
  • During registration on the official website, aspirants have to provide some of the basic details including Email, Name, Date of birth, Verification code.
  • Then, candidates will be able to sign-in using the login credentials generated at the time of the registration.
  • Next, aspirants have to enter all the required educational, personal, and contact details in the application form.
  • The details entered in the application form must be accurate. Otherwise, authorities may reject the application form.
  • Along with the details, it is compulsory to upload the scanned images of the following documents.

Selection Process Result

  • Once the application form submission gets over, authorities will screen the application forms submitted.
  • The authorities will take around four months in order to select the candidates.
  • All selected candidates will then receive a provisional offer letter on their web portal informing them about their selection.
  • The selected candidates have to download the offer letter by logging into the online portal.
  • The complete list of selected and rejected candidates will also be uploaded on the official website.
  • For further consideration, the selected candidates then need to upload the required documents on the web portal with the prescribed time limit.
  • The amount the scholarship will be transferred to the scholar’s state bank of India bank account.

Documents to get the scholarship

The following documents should be submitted by the selected candidates in order to get the scholarship.

  • The annual Performance Reports and Mark sheets (annual/two semesters) need to be submitted as soon as the authorities declare the result.
  • Candidates are also advised to upload their yearly Mark-sheets and performance related documents on-time, preferably within 2 months of the announcement of yearly results to facilitate the payment of scholarship by DST-INSPIRE.

Question – 1: When will Inspire Scholarship 2024 application release?

To begin with, the scholarship will be granted only after the approval of 1st year BSc, BS, Int. MSc/MS Performance Reports and mark sheets. Provided your academic performance is satisfactory, two years of scholarship (i.e. Rs. 1,20,000/-) shall be provided during your second year of your B.Sc./Int. M.Sc. course.

I am an INSPIRE scholar currently pursuing my first year BSc/BS/Int.MSc/Int.MS course. I have discontinued my course. Will my scholarship be continued?

No, the scholarship of such candidates will be withdrawn. If you join the course back, you will not be able to get the INSPIRE scholarship.

What if I fail in my BSc/BS/Int.MSc/Int.MS course?

In such a case, your scholarship will be halted. It is compulsory to do well in the Course in order to get the scholarship.

Is it possible to apply for the Inspire Scholarship in offline mode?

No, the application form for Inspire Scholarship will release in online mode only.

Is there any application fee in order to apply for the Inspire Scholarship?

No, there is no provision of an application fee.
