On 7th September 2021, the lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir Mr. Manoj Sinha launches the Kashmir Migrant Immovable Properties/ Community Assets related Grievance Redressal System 2021. This portal enables Kashmiri migrants to file any grievance connected to their immovable property or related to a community asset.

The grievances submitted through this portal will be shared by the Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction with the Department of Revenue for necessary action for the resolution of the grievance in a fixed time frame. Who are Kashmiri Migrants?

The following people are known as the Kashmiri Migrants.

  • With the onset of the militancy in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in Kashmir (Division) in the year 1989-1990, a large number of people had to migrate from their ancestral places of residence.
  • This result in the mass exodus of Kashmiri Hindus along with a number of families belonging to Sikhs and Muslims.
  • Approximately, 60,000 families migrated from the valley during the turmoil, and the majority of these families preferred to settle at Jammu and its adjoining areas.
  • On the other hand, approximately 23000 such migrants families settled outside the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) State.

    • Nature of Issue / Concern – Tampering of records/ Demarcation/ Encroachment/ Trespassing/ Alienation by fraud or distress
  • You may also attach a file regarding your complaint/ Grievance. Please note that size of the file should be less than 250 Kb and the supported format is PDF.
  • You may also add Remarks (if anything not captured above, up to 300 words only).

  • Next, you need to verify your email address by entering a valid email address and OTP that you will receive on the same. Please note that all updates regarding the application will be delivered to the verified Email Address.
