His mother was a fashion stylist and costume designer while his father was a tour accountant for Guns N’ Roses. Hills’ younger sister Beanie Feldstein is also an actress. Jonah is the younger brother of Jordan Feldstein, a music manager for Robin Thicke and Maroon 5. Jordan died from a pulmonary embolism at age 40.

Acting career
Hill started writing and performing in plays while still in college. With the popularity of his plays, Hill realized that he should start acting in movies. He became friends with Rebecca and Jake Hoffman who then introduced him to their father, the popular director Dustin Hoffman. Jonah made his movie debut with Hoffman’s movie “I Heart Huckabees”. Afterward, he made brief appearances in the movies “The 40-Year-Old Virgin”, “Accepted” and “Click”. However, his first breakthrough role came with the movie “Superbad”.
In 2011, Hill appeared in the film “Moneyball” alongside actor Brad Pitt which earned him nominations for Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture and Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
