Junior Science Talent Search Examination (JSTSE) 2023; Application (soon), Exam Date, Eligibility
The Science Board of Education, Delhi conducts JSTSE every year for the students of the NCT of Delhi. Students of class IX are eligible to apply for this exam and earn scholarships as applicable. Online application form is expected to be start soon.

Eligibility Criteria for Junior Science Talent Search Examination 2023
The candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria for appearing in the Junior Science Talent Search examination 2023:
- Students of class IX in any recognized school of Delhi affiliated to CBSE/ ICSE/ State Board are eligible.
- The student should have secured a minimum of 65% marks in their class VIII exam.
- No age limit or family income has been prescribed for applying for JSTSE 2023.
JSTSE 2023 Application Process
Candidates can download the application-cum-admit card from the official website www.edudel.nic.in. Before applying, the candidates must make sure that they are eligible for the scholarship.
- Basic details of the students like name, gender, category, family income, school name, class 8 marks, bank details, etc need to be provided in the application form.
- The students should affix passport size photograph and put their signature at the specified boxes in the application form.
- All the details should be provided very carefully as use of scratch marks, whitener, etc is not allowed.
- PH category candidates who are eligible for extra time in the exam should enclose attested copy of PH certificate along with the application form.
- Students belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC category need to enclose category certificate wilt the application.
- Candidates belonging to Economically Weaker Section should submit the EWS certificate.
- After completely filling the application form, the students should submit the same to their respective schools.
- The school should submit the application form obtained from the students to the Science Branch of Education, Delhi.
- Late applications will not be considered under any circumstances.

JSTSE 2023 Exam Pattern
The basic overview of JSTSE 2023 exam pattern below:

- Marking scheme: One mark will be awarded for each right answer.

Syllabus for JSTSE 2023
The syllabus of the JSTSE exam will be same as the syllabus prescribed by the CBSE/ ICSE/ State Boards. JSTSE Topics studied by the students during their Class VIII and IX will be asked in the examination. Current affairs and general knowledge of the candidates will also be assessed.
Admit Card
- Schools will provide the students a copy of the application-cum-admit card.
- The admit card will contain the important details like roll number, name, etc of the students.
- Examination center information and date and timing of the exam will also be mentioned on the admit card.
- The students should carefully check their admit card and make sure that it is attested by their respective school Principals.
- Students must carry with them this copy of admit card while appearing for the JSTSE.
Result
- Result of JSTSE exam 2023 will be announced by the Science Branch of Education, Delhi.
- Students can check the result from the official website www.edudel.nic.in or can contact their school for the same.
- A merit list of the candidates will be drawn based on their performance in the talent search exam.
- Selection of the candidates for the scholarship will be done on the basis of their merit.
Junior Science Talent Search Examination Awards 2023
- The students will be awarded scholarships as per the rules decided by the Science Branch of Education, Delhi.
- Around 150 scholarships are awarded to the students clearing the JSTSE every year.
FAQs
Answer: No. Only the candidates who are currently enrolled in any CBSE/ ICSE/ State board school located within the NCT of Delhi are eligible to apply for this exam.
Answer: No. The JSTSE 2023 application form should only be submitted to the respective schools and will reach the Science Branch of Education by their schools. Direct applications will not be considered.
Answer: The candidates belonging to Physically Handicapped category will be given extra 30 minutes to write their Junior Science Talent Search Examination. Total duration of the exam for such candidates will be 230 minutes.
Answer: Yes. The concerned authorities will release the answer key for the JSTSE 2023 exam on the official website of Science Branch of Education, Delhi. The answer key will contain of the question number and its correct answer option written next to it.
Answer: Candidates will receive the amount of scholarship, if qualified, directly into their banks. Details of the bank should be provided correctly into the application form as the amount will be received into that account.
