Kamal Haasan Personal Biography
Kamal Haasan was born on 7 November 1954, in present-day Chennai, Tamil Nadu to Rajalakshmi and D. Srinivasan. His father was a lawyer and freedom fighter while his mother was a housewife. Haasan was initially named Parthasarathy but was later changed to Kamal Haasan by his father. His brothers were also actors while Haasan’s sister is a classical dancer.
Haasan married dancer Vani Ganapathy in 1978. Vani was seen with Haasan in movies and also worked as his costume designer. The couple got divorced ten years later and Haasan started living with actress Sarika. They got married in 1998 after the birth of their first child. Their daughters Shruti and Akshara also work in the film industry as actor and director respectively. Haasan and Sarika got divorced in 2004. Haasan then got into a relationship with actress Gautami in 2005, but they separated in 2016.
