Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2024-25: Class 1 Registration from 1st April, Age Limit, Selection Process

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghthan has launched the class 1 registration testing portal, the registration for KV admission 2024-25 (class 1) will start from 1st April 2024.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) will release the official notification very soon for Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2024-25. There are 1254 Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools in India that offer classes from 1^st to 12^th. The application process for class 1 will take place online. For all other classes, offline registration will take place. The age of a candidate for class 1^st admission should be at least 6 years. Parents who are looking to enroll their wards for admission must check the eligibility and priority criteria carefully. The tentative schedule for KV Admission 2024 is explained in the following table. It will be updated after the release of its respective notification.

Eligibility Criteria 

To get admission, the age of a student should fall in the following age bracket. 

Note: Differently abled students will get a relaxation of 2 years in the upper age limit. There is no age limit for class 11^th admission. Those who want to get admission to class 12^th should not have taken any break after class 11^th. 

Kendriya Vidyalaya Class 1 Registration 2024 

The registration process for KV Admission 2024 is given below. 

• First of all, you need to register on the official website i.e. https://kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in/. Alternatively, you can download Kendriya Vidyalaya mobile app to apply for class 1^st admission.
• You will have to provide your mobile number and email address to register for admission. 
• In the application form, students will have to provide all the required details such as the parent’s name, address, category, etc. 
• Apart from the details, you will have to upload scanned images of the student’s photograph and category certificate. 
• Finally, submit the application form and keep a copy safe for future reference. 

Registration for class 2^nd onward

• The KV registration process for classes 2nd onwards is only initiated if there are vacancies available.
• The application form for admission is released offline, and it can be obtained from the office of the principal.
• The application form requires the applicant to provide basic personal, academic, address, and other details.
• Along with the application form, the applicant must also submit the required documents.

Selection Process 

The selection process for Kendriya Vidyalaya admission is different for various classes as explained below. 

Class 1^st Admission 

• For class 1^st Admission, KVS will select candidates on the basis of a draw. Please note that the KVS will follow its priority pattern while conducting the draw. 

Admission Process for classes 2^nd to 8^th 

• Students will be shortlisted for admission to these classes on the basis of the priority category system. 
• In case the number of applications is more than the number of seats then the lottery system will be followed by the school. 

Class 9^th Admission Process 

• An entrance test will take place to shortlist candidates for admission to class 9^th. 
• The pattern of this entrance examination is explained below. 

Class 11^th Admission Process 

Admission to class 11^th will be provided based on marks secured by candidates in the class 10^th board examination. 

• Science Stream – At least 60% marks in aggregate of all subjects are required.
• Commerce Stream – A minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all subjects is required. 
• Humanities Stream – Only a pass in class 10^th is required. 

KV Admission Priority

There are certain priorities in Kendriya Vidyalaya admission 2024-25, check below:

• 1^st Priority – Children of transferable/ non-transferable employees of the Central government and children of ex-servicemen.
• 2^nd Priority – Children of transferable/  non-transferable employees of Autonomous Bodies/ Public Sector Undertaking/ Institute of Higher Learning of the central government.
• 3^rd Priority – Children of transferable/ non-transferable State Government employees
• 4^th Priority – Children of transferable/ non-transferable employees of Autonomous Bodies/ Public Sector Undertakings/ Institute of Higher Learning of the state governments.
• 5^th Priority – Children from any other category including the children of foreign nationals who are located in India for their work or any personal reasons

Kendriya Vidyalaya Class 1^st Lottery Result 

• The Kendriya Vidyalaya Class 1st admission lottery result will be published on the official website of KVS.
• Parents and students who have applied for admission can check the website for the result.
• The lottery system ensures a fair and transparent process for admission.

Result for Class 2^nd to 11^th 

• The result for admission from classes 2^nd to 11^th will be published on the individual websites of the schools. 
• To check the result, you must visit the website of the school for which you have applied for admission.

Documents Required For Admission

At the time of admission, parents/ students need to present the following documents 

• For class 1st, a birth certificate is issued by the authority competent to register births.
• For class 2nd Onwards, the Transfer certificate issued by the school last attended.
• Category certificate for candidates issued by the competent authority (SC/ ST/ EWS/ OBC-NCL/ BPL)
• Proof of relationship of either of the child’s parents with the Hon’ble Member of Parliament/ PSU employees/ KVS employee (if applicable)
• Residence Proof
• Certificate of retirement for uniformed Defence employees
• Disability certificate, from the civil surgeon/ rehabilitation center or any other competent authority
• A service certificate showing the number of transfers during the preceding 7 years duly signed and stamped by the head of the office bearing the name, designation
