Liam Neeson was born on 7 June 1952 in Ballymena, County Antrim, to Katherine and Bernard Neeson. His mother was a cook while his father was a primary school caretaker. Neeson took boxing lessons at the age of 9 and even won various regional titles before quitting at the age of 17. He also used to act in school productions during his teens and became interested in acting after being influenced by the founder of the Democratic Unionist Party, Ian Paisley.
In early 1980, Neeson started dating actress Helen Mirren. However, the couple separated after living together for two years. Helen is known for movies like “Calendar Girls”, “The Tempest”, “The Debt”, “Hitchcock”, “Eye in the Sky”, etc, and is the winner of an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. From 1991 to 1992 Liam dated popular singer Barbra Streisand and maintained a good friendship with her even after their breakup.
