Vande Bharat Express are trains indigenous to India that are designed keeping in mind cost optimization and low-cost maintenance. There are a total of 34 such express trains in the country, the latest one being inaugurated recently in September 2023. These trains are among the fastest trains in India, run and managed by the Indian Railways. The semi-high-speed Vande Bharat Express was inaugurated in 2019 by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. Laced with safety and comfort features, the Vande Bharat train runs on many routes with very few halts in between. Vande Bharat Express train: 22435/ 22436

The train between Varanasi and New Delhi was the first Vande Bharat Express launched in India. This express train was inaugurated on February 18, 2019 and runs from Varanasi to New Delhi and vice versa on five days a week (all days except Monday and Thursday). The only stops that the train makes is at the Prayagraj Junction and Kanpur Central.

Vande Bharat Express train: 22439/ 22440

The second Vande Bharat Express was introduced by the Minister of Home Affairs of India, Amit Shah, on October 3, 2019. the train first ran on October 5, 2019 from Delhi to Katra stopping at stations Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana and finally to Jammu Tawi. Except for Tuesday, the express runs on every day of the week.

Vande Bharat Express train: 20901/ 20902

Launched on September 30, 2022, the train between Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar CAP is the third Vande Bharat express train in India. Except on Sundays, this train runs on every day of the week and takes only six hours to reach from Gandhinagar to Mumbai Central and vice versa.

Vande Bharat Express train: 22447/ 22448

The fourth Vande Bharat express train, launched on October 13, 2022, runs from New Delhi to Anb Andaura railway station in Himachal Pradesh. It runs six days a week, excluding Friday and takes six hours to complete the journey. The train makes stops at the stations of Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh.

Vande Bharat Express train: 20608/ 20607

The Vande Bharat Express train from Chennai to Mysuru was the fifth installment in the Vande Bharat express that was inaugurated on November 10, 2022. The train only has two stops at Katpadi and KRS Bengaluru and covers a total distance of 479 km from Chennai to Mysuru. This express train does not run on Wednesdays.

Vande Bharat Express train: 20825/ 20826

The sixth Vande Bharat Express train run from Bilaspur Junction to Nagpur Junction and was launched on December 11, 2022. It runs for six days a week, excluding Saturdays and makes stops only in Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon and Gondia. The train takes 5 hours 30 minutes to complete its journey of 412 kilometers

Vande Bharat Express train: 22301/ 22302

Launched on December 30 2022, the Howrah – New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express train was the seventh train in the series. It takes 7 hours and 30 minutes for this train to complete its journey which includes 3 stops excluding Howrah and New Jalpaiguri. Except for Wednesday, the express train runs all days a week.

Vande Bharat Express train: 20833/ 20834

The latest train to be introduced under Vande Bharat Express train runs from Visakhapatnam to Secunderabad. This Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express has stops at Rajahmundry, Vijayawada stations, Khammam and Warangal. Launched on January 15, 2023, the train covers a journey of 699 kms in 8 hours and 30 minutes.

Mumbai CSMT – Solapur Vande Bharat Express (22225/22226)

It is the 9th Vande Bharat train. By taking this train from Solapur to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus covering a distance of 455 km, Surekha Yadav became the first lady to drive the Make In India’s Vande Bharat Express train on Monday, 13th March 2023.

Mumbai CSMT – Sainagar Shirdi Vande Bharat Express (22223/22224)

This train was inaugurated on 10th February 2023. It is operated by Central Railways (CR). It was designed and manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory. The train connects Mumbai CSMT, Dadar Ctrl, Thane, Kalyan Jn., Nashik Road, and Sainagar Shirdi Terminus.

Rani Kamalapati (Habibganj)–Hazrat Nizamuddin Vande Bharat Express (20171/20172)

This is the 11th Vande Bharat Train that connects Delhi to the state of Madhya Pradesh. Starting from Rani Kamalapati (Habibganj), it reaches Hazrat Nizamuddin via Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi Jn, Gwalior Jn., and Agra Cantt. Currently, it runs 6 days a week.

Secunderabad – Tirupati Vande Bharat Express (20701/20702)

The 20701/20702 Secunderabad – Tirupati Vande Bharat Express connects Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The Prime Minister flagged off this train on 8th April 2023. It is also the first train to be converted from a Mini Vande Bharat 2.0 Express train to a Vande Bharat Express 2.0 train.

MGR Chennai Central – Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express (20643/20644)

Inaugurated by PM Modi on 8th April 2023, MGR Chennai Central – Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express connects the cities of Chennai and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. It operates 6 days a week covering 495 km (308 mi) in 5 hours and 50 minutes with an average speed of 80 km/hr.

Delhi Cantonment–Ajmer Vande Bharat Express (20977/20978)

It is the 14th Vande Bharat Express that connects New Delhi with Haryana, and Rajasthan. The train halts at the following stations – Delhi Cantonment, Gurgaon, Rewari Jn, Alwar Jn, Jaipur Jn, and Ajmer Jn. It covers a distance of 429 Km in 5 hours and 15 minutes.

Kasaragod – Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express (via Kottayam) (20633/20634)

Operated by Indian Railways, the Vande Bharat Express connects important stations like Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Shoranur Junction, Thrissur, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Kollam Junction and Thiruvananthapuram Central. It is the first Vande Bharat Express train in Kerala.

Howrah – Puri Vande Bharat Express (22895/22896)

Inaugurated on 18th May 2023, this Vande Bharat Express connects the capital city of West Bengal to the land of Sri Jagannath in Odisha. It travels a distance of 500 km in 6 hours and 20 minutes. The train has Airline-style rotatable seats.

Anand Vihar Terminal–Dehradun Vande Bharat Express (22457/22458)

This Vande Bharat Train is designed to connect Anand Vihar Railway Station of Delhi to the state of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The train was inaugurated on 25th May 2023 and it travels a distance of 302 Km. The average speed of this train is 64 km/hr.

New Jalpaiguri – Guwahati Vande Bharat Express (22227/22228)

Inaugurated on 29th May 2023, this Vande Bharat Express connects two most important cities in North-East India i.e. Siliguri in West Bengal and Guwahati in Assam. It is the first Vande Bharat Express train serving North East India.

Mumbai CSMT – Madgaon Vande Bharat Express (22229/22230)

Flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 27 June 2023 via video conference, this Vande Bharat Express is the first train of its kind to serve Konkan Railways of India. It connects Maharashtra with Goa. It travels 581 Km in 7 hours and 45 Minutes (in Non-Monsoon Season) and in 10 hours and 5 Minutes (Monsoon Season).

Patna – Ranchi Vande Bharat Express (22349/22350)

It is the 20th Vande Bharat Train in India that connects Patna City in Bihar with Ranchi in Jharkhand. Along with many other trains, it was inaugurated by PM Modi through video conference on 27th June 2023. Operating 6 days a week, this train connects important stations like Patna Jn, Gaya Jn, Koderma Jn, Hazaribagh Town, Barkakana Jn, Mesra, and Ranchi Jn.

KSR Bengaluru – Dharwad Vande Bharat Express (20661/20662)

This Vande Bharat train is for South India. It runs between the city of Bengaluru and Dharwad city in Karnataka. It operates at an average speed of 76 km/ hr.

Rani Kamalapati (Habibganj)–Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express (20173/20174)

It is the 22nd Vande Bharat Express in India. It is considered a boon for central India. It connects the capital city of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal with Jabalpur. This express travels a distance of 330 km in just 4 hours and 35 minutes.

Indore – Bhopal Vande Bharat Express (20911/20912)

The 23rd Vande Bharat Express is also dedicated to central India. It connects Indore city in Madhya Pradesh with Bhopal via Ujjain. The operating average speed of this train is very high i.e. around 84 km/hr.

Jodhpur–Sabarmati (Ahmedabad) Vande Bharat Express (12461/12462)

Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conference from Gorakhpur Junction on 7th July 2023. Jodhpur – Sabarmati (Ahmedabad) Vande Bharat Express runs between Jodhpur, Rajasthan and Sabarmati, Gujarat. With 5 stops in between it travels 449 km in 6 hours and 10 minutes.

Gorakhpur – Lucknow Charbagh Vande Bharat Express (22549/22550)

This is the 25th Vande Bharat Express train in India. It is dedicated to the state of Uttar Pradesh. It operates between the station of Gorakhpur City and Lucknow. It also has a stop at Ayodhya. PM Modi inaugurated it on 7th July 2023.

Udaipur City – Jaipur Vande Bharat Express (20979/20980)

This Vande Bharat Express runs on the most popular route in Rajasthan. It connects the beautiful city of Udaipur with the capital city of Jaipur. Passengers can enjoy a comfortable journey with amenities like air-conditioned coaches, onboard catering services, etc. It covers a distance of 435 km in 6 hours and 15 minutes.

MGR Chennai Central – Vijayawada Vande Bharat Express (20677/20678)

It is the 27th Vande Bharat Train in India. Inaugurated by PM Modi on 24th September 2023, it connects Chennai Central and Vijayawada. The maximum permissible speed of this train is around 130 km/ hr. This train halts at Renigunta, Nellore, Ongole, and Tenali Junction.

Chennai Egmore – Tirunelveli Vande Bharat Express (20665/20666)

This is another Vande Bharat Express Train dedicated to South India. It connects the bustling city of Chennai Egmore with the scenic town of Tirunelveli. The train is designed to travel 650 km in just 7 hours and 50 minutes.

Kacheguda – Yesvantpur Vande Bharat Express (20703/20704)
