National Technology Day History
On May 11, 1999, the day was first commemorated. The date was chosen since it was on this day that India joined the elite squad of nuclear-armed nations. India recently accomplished three nuclear tests at the Indian Army’s Pokhran Testing Range which is situated in Rajasthan on 11th May, 1998. The trials were carried out as part of Operation Shakti.
