Pedro Pascal was born on 2 April 1975, in Santiago, Chile to Verónica Pascal Ureta and José Balmaceda Riera. His mother was a child psychologist while his father was a fertility doctor. He has an older sister, Javiera, and a younger brother, Nicolás. Pedro aslo has another sister Lux Pascal who is an actress, a transgender, and a transgender activist. His mother died by suicide in 1999.
In his school days, Pascal was an excellent swimmer and even participated in competitive swimming. At age 11, he reached the state championships in Texas but stopped swimming after his interest rose in drama class. To pursue his dreams, Pedro studied acting at the Orange County School of the Arts and also attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
