Finally, after consulting a lot of sages, he reached Sage Lomesh.

Lomesh from the power of his meditation found that the King is facing this misfortune due to his sins from the previous life. Lomesh told that the kind was a merchant in the previous birth. While traveling on a business trip, the merchant was very thirsty. Then, he reached a pond where a cow and her calf were drinking water. The merchant drove them away and drink water. This is the reason for King being Childless in this birth.

To get rid of his misfortune, Lomesh asked the King to observe a fast on Shravana Putrada Ekadashi. King along with the citizen of Mahishmati kept a fast on this Ekadashi and offer prayers to Lord Vishnu. The King and his citizen also donated jewels, gold, clothes, etc. to Brahmins on Shravan Putrada Ekadashi. Finally, their wish gets fulfilled, the King got blessed with a beautiful boy.
