The Tamil Nadu state observes a number of holidays including the secular holidays, national holidays and regional holidays. Banks, schools, public offices, private offices and other organizations normally remain close on the holidays, providing their employees a day off. Tamil Nadu Government Holidays List 2023
Every state Government specifies a list of holidays, known as Government holidays, that is to be observed by all public offices of the state. More than 20 holidays have been declared as the government holidays by the Tamil Nadu government. Other than public offices, most banks, schools and public offices will also observe these holidays (most of them). List of Bank Holidays in TN 2023
Apart from observing the major Government holidays mentioned above, the banks also observe holidays on every Sunday and second and fourth of every month. Banks remain closed on these days and no bank related physical work can be done on these days. However, facilities like ATM service, online money transfer service, etc will continue to work normally on these days.
