History of World Kindness Day Observation
World Kindness Day was established by the World Kindness Movement in 1998. The World Kindness Movement was formed in 1997 during a conference held at Tokyo, Japan where Japan urged and brought kindness organizations of multiple nations together to emphasize on the necessity of a global kindness movement. Thus the World Kindness Movement organization was formed and currently more than 28 countries are a part of this group. The first thing that the organization did after its formation was introduce the World Kindness Day in 2008. The first World Kindness Day was observed in different parts of the world on 13 November.
World Kindness Day is observed in many countries, including Canada, Australia, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Italy, India and the UK. Efforts are also going on by the World Kindness Movement to have this day officially recognized by the United Nations and its members to sign a Declaration of Support for World Kindness.
