Career as a singer
Xiao Zhan started his musical career after being encouraged by a teacher and participated in the reality TV show X-Fire in 2015. he made his professional debut as a singer with the boy band group X Nine with eight other members in 2016. the group released its first mini-album in the same year. Two years later, Xiao sang the soundtrack for the drama Oh! “My Emperor” in which he also acted. He repeated the same for other of his dramas as well. He was also a member of the singing program Our Song for its first season which aired in 2019.
Zhan released his digital single “Spotlight” in 2020 which became a major hit and is also the highest-selling digital single of all time. Zhan made the Guinness World Record for the fastest-selling digital track in China and the song was also listed as one of the 10 biggest-selling digital singles worldwide. In 2022, the song was released globally on the iTunes platform under the title “Made to Love”.
